Rooster Cake

The last couple of months have been off for caking, but things are beginning to pick back up as the weather is getting nicer. The next month should be jam packed with new photos, and there are alot of plans for weddings and birthday cakes in the fall.

This week my friend Drew (nightmare before christmas cake) a returning customer, asked me to make a cake for his mom's birthday which was yesterday (Happy Birthday Drew's Mom!) She loves chocolate, so we did a triple chocolate fudge cake, with chocolate icing with chocolate chips in between layers. She apparently loves Roosters as well so the game plan was to have a big ole rooster sitting on top of the cake.

Here are a bunch of photos of the final product!

Hello Kitty!

My cousin's daughter is turning one, so my aunt asked me if I could make the cake for the party and she would provide cupcakes. I kept it simple with Funfetti cake and vanilla buttercream icing. The only thing the asked for was Hello Kitty themed, so I figured I'd sculpt her, and make some hearts and flowers, and keep it really girly and cute.

Happy 1st birthday Sam!!!

Bridal Shower Cake

With the holidays and everything else, there has been a lack of caking, but I hope now that they are over it will go back to being a crazy time managing cakes and everything else! It feels good to be back to baking, and making yummy treats.

My friend LP asked me to make this cake for her friends bridal shower. They really liked the West Virginia bow cake i had made previously, but they wanted to add their own spin to it with roses and lillies and hearts. I was excited to make this cake because they wanted a very dense flour-less chocolate cake, and having never made one before I was worried at the same time. The cake turned out to be almost brownie like in texture because the top hardens a bit, and the inside stays nice and moist. So it is def. something I will try out again in the future because the response was great.

Hope the Shower was great!

60th Birthday Animal Print Cake

Right after I finished the Hawaiian themed cake, I had to start baking and creating this next cake. This was for a friend of mine that I went to college with, she wanted to have something special for her aunt's big birthday. The top tier of the cake is kind of abstract zebra print, and the flavor of the cake is carrot cake with cream cheese icing. And the bottom tier is vanilla cake with a cream puff filling.

Hawaiian Cake

Timmy and his coworkers planned a surprise wedding shower for another coworker who got married last week, and their honeymoon plans were to go to hawaii. They decided to get her a hawaiian themed wedding shower cake, and here it is.
The cake was vanilla, and the icing was vanilla buttercream.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

Happy Halloween everyone!!! I hope it's filled with tricks-n-treats, and some scares here and there!
This cake was actually made for saturday, but I wanted to wait until today to post the photos on here since it's a halloween themed cake, and today is halloween!

My friend Drew asked me to make a Nightmare Before Christmas cake for his friend for a halloween party, and I literally jumped up and down with excitement since I have been waiting for someone to order a halloween themed cake! It's my favorite holiday, i love being scared, i love dressing up, and love the zombies and ghouls!

The cake is chocolate and vanilla marble with chocolate chips, and a chocolate peanut butter icing.

Happy Halloween!

Happy 30th Birthday!

The last cake I had in the week of 4, was for my sister in law Courtney's 30th birthday. We celebrated by going out to dinner and then ending up at my parents house for some cake, and spending some quality time together, and playing with my nephew of course. =)

Court's cake was vanilla funfetti, and vanilla buttercream icing.

Happy 30th Court!
