Cake for my Aunt

This past week i had a special cake to make, my Aunt Barb just finished radiation treatments, and we threw her a party this saturday, and I was very happy to make a cake for the event! This week was crazy as could be, there's been a lot of changes going on, i got a new job on top of my full time job and caking, so I have been trying to fit in training, working, working out, working on the cake, and spending time with friends for birthdays and just in general. But I got everything done in time, and I think it turned out very nice, and my mom sent me a text after I left the party that everyone loved the cake, and that it tasted as good as it looked. Which is always an amazing compliment.

I am so happy my aunt is done, and hopefully everything is good from here on out. But of course keep her in your thoughts and prayers for a full recovery.

And now for the cake! I kept it pretty simple since it was for a big crowd. The cake flavor was vanilla funfetti. The top tier had vanilla icing, and the bottom oreo filling.

F&M Cake

The other cake for this week was for my cousin Alanna's graduation party! She just graduated from highschool, and will be attending Franklin and Marshall in the fall, so she wanted a cake with the school's colors and the mascots, and a little something doctor related since thats what she is going for!

The cake was vanilla, with an oreo buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream icing.

West Virginia Cake

This past week I had two cakes, this one was for my boyfriend Tim's co-worker Tracy. She wanted to do something special for her grandpa's birthday. The cake was vanilla, with coconut buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream icing.

Flyers Groom Cake

This cake was made for two good friends from college who got married! I was very excited to help celebrate their wedding by making this cake for their rehearsal dinner. The cake itself was a very moist triple chocolate fudge cake, with vanilla buttercream icing.

Hey Diddle Diddle....

This past week I have been working on a baby shower cake for a co-worker of my boyfriend Tim. The theme was Hey Diddle Diddle the Cat and the fiddle.












The top tier was chocolate cake and chocolate icing, and the bottom tier was vanilla cake with chocolate icing.

Oreo Cake

I made this cake for my Aunt Barb. She was recently diagnosed with cancer, and it was a shock to us all, but she has been an absolute trooper, and I really wanted to bring her something yummy and pretty.

The cake is vanilla, with oreo icing, oreos on the side and hand painted fondant flowers on top.

Bridal Shower

This past week I worked on a cake for my good friend Rachel's future sister in law Lauren's bridal shower. Lauren's favorite flower is a lily, I am almost positive they were calling it her signature flower, so I was more than pleased to make tons of lillies for her three tiered cake.
