Phanatic & Purse cake!

Last week I made my first ever purse cake. My friend Jess' older sister Meghan turned 30, and she is very girly, so Jess sent along a photo of a coach purse and a shiny gold Jessica Simpson shoe, both of which she wanted incorporated with the cake. And this is what I came up with:

The cake was vanilla and chocolate every other layer, and the icing was Chocolate buttercream.

Next my good friend Jenna asked me to do a cake for her cousin Matthew's benefit for ALD. They have been raising money over the past few years for Matthew's Dream. So last sunday we all went out to the bowling alley and raised some money for Matthew!

This cake was chocolate with chocolate buttercream icing.

Happy Birthday Meghan!!!!!

Ben 10 & another 50th!

Been pretty busy lately, finished bartending school, now looking for a job..and just did two new cakes, and have another two in two weeks.

The first cake is from a cartoon show called Ben 10 on cartoon network, and the cake is in the shape of this thing he wears on his wrist.

The cake was a very chocolate cake, with chocolate icing as well!

Next we have a cake for my friend Vickie's mom's 50th, or Golden Annversary =) Her favorite color is yellow, and she also asked for the baby blue color as well, and pretty much gave me the freedom to do whatever...

The cake was homemade funfetti, with oreo icing, and the present on top is made from rice krispie treats

Happy Birthday Thomas and Mrs. DeCicco!!!!!!!

3 weeks

So this is about a week late.. so technically 2 weeks. I decided not too long ago, that as well as making cakes, and doing other things in my life that make me truly happy, I wanted to experience a profession I have always been interested in, bartending. Now I know I am 24 and this is the time in my life where I am supposed to be "growing up," but after continuous let downs, I have decided that I am just going to grab life by the horns, and experience what makes me happy, and if it's immature of me to do so...so be it.

With that being said.. I am taking a three week hiatus from cake work to go to bartending school. My first week was awesome, and as I begin the 2nd week I am truly looking forward to learning more. The reason why I have to take a short hiatus from cakes is because classes start literally right as I get off of work, so I run from work to school... and then run home, and usually I get home at about 10:30 at night, really leaving no time to work on anything.

I will be working on a small cake for family on the 13th... so as much as i wanted this to be a complete three week break.. it's really not happening.. =)

But you will be glad to hear I already I have an order for the week I am done bartending school, and I am looking forward to having more soon after! So as always, please contact me if you're interested in some edible art work. I will be officially back at it October 16th, so if you have an event after this date please do not hesitate to contact me!!!!!

Mrs. Clark's 50th Birthday!!!!!!

It took me a little bit of time to post these photos because I literally had 4 cakes in a week and a half, and it was a lot on my plate, so I took a bit off from cakes this week. But now I am back =)

One of my best friends from school, Lisa, came to me wanting a 50th birthday cake. She gave me a list of things to work with, such as her mom loves her new 2010 black mustang! So I decided that the mustang would be the top of the cake because it would look cool sitting on top of a two tiered cake. The next thing she wanted me to make sure I added was a little something for their recently passed away dog Jake, so I decided what better way to do that then make a tier dedicated to her new dog and her old dog. Since they both were and are very loved pets. And finally the bottom is for her mom's love of the beach, specifically OBX, and of course corona's =)

The top tier of the cake was made with white cake and chocolate peanut butter icing, and the bottom tier was chocolate cake with chocolate peanut butter icing.

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY MRS. CLARK!!!!!!!!!!!!
